Young Thug Trial: YSL Defendant Sues Over Jail Conditions
A new development has emerged in the ongoing trial of the Young Slippers (YSL) defendants, with one of the accused, identified as Savoy “Boo” Savage, filing a lawsuit against the Georgia Department of Corrections over his jail conditions. Savage, who is currently being held at the Lee Arrendale State Prison in Habersham County, alleges that he and other inmates are being subjected to severe mistreatment, including extreme temperatures, overcrowding, and a lack of basic necessities.
According to the lawsuit, Savage claims that he and other inmates have been exposed to temperatures as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit, and as high as 100 degrees, leading to health concerns and other issues. The lawsuit also alleges that the jail is overcrowded, with some inmates being forced to sleep on the floor without adequate bedding or facilities.
Savage is seeking damages and relief, claiming that his rights under the 8th Amendment of the US Constitution, which prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, are being violated. The lawsuit also seeks an end to the alleged mistreatment and a promise that similar conditions will not continue.
