World Prepares for 1000-Foot ‘Megalodon’ Rollercoaster Thrill Ride

The once-impossible dream of building a 1,000-foot-tall thrill ride is now within reach, thanks to technological advancements and AI-assisted designing. According to engineering expert Spiegel, it’s only a matter of time and financial investment before this aspiration becomes a reality.

The new coaster will feature an “ingenious” braking system to control its high speed, necessitating riders to wear safety goggles. The structural engineering team has designed the coaster to withstand “vertical and lateral forces.” The massive ride will be built on a large area of land to accommodate the extensive track needed for the launch and run out on both sides of the behemoth.

Spiegel is “quite well along” with the project and promises it will be “nothing short of breathtaking in every sense of the meaning.” He anticipates the ride will be a groundbreaking achievement in the world of amusement park rides, cementing the phrase “COASTER IS KING!” In future developments, Six Flags announced its plan to replace the 456-foot-tall Kingda Ka coaster in its New Jersey park with a record-breaking launch coaster in 2026. Currently, the 415-foot-tall Superman: Escape from Krypton at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Cedar Point’s 420-foot-tall Top Thrill 2 coaster in Ohio hold the titles of the world’s tallest roller coaster, respectively. The Six Flags Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia, however, will debut the world’s tallest roller coaster in 2025 at 640 feet, before this 1,000-foot behemoth takes over.
