World Leaders and U.S. Politicians Mourn the Death of Jimmy Carter

The world has lost an extraordinary leader, statesman, and humanitarian with the passing of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter at the age of 100. He will be remembered for his commitment to service, his abiding faith, and his unwavering dedication to promoting peace and human rights around the world.

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden called Carter a “dear friend” and stated, “Today, America and the world lost an extraordinary leader… What’s extraordinary about Jimmy Carter is that millions of people throughout America and the world who never met him thought of him as a dear friend as well.”

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris praised Carter’s guidance by his deep faith and his commitment to serving others. “Jimmy Carter’s life is a testament to the power of service – as a lieutenant in the United States Navy, the 76th Governor of Georgia, and the 39th President of the United States. He reminded our nation and the world that there is strength in decency and compassion.”

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump expressed his gratitude to Carter for his service to the country and the world. “The challenges Jimmy faced as President came at a pivotal time for our country, and he did everything in his power to improve the lives of all Americans. For that, we all owe him a debt of gratitude.”

World leaders and politicians have also paid tribute to Carter’s legacy. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres praised Carter’s leadership in promoting international peace and security, stating, “President Carter’s commitment to international peace and human rights also found full expression after he left the presidency. He played a key role in conflict mediation, election monitoring, and disease prevention and eradication.”

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi extended his condolences to the Carter family and the people of the United States, stating, “His significant role in achieving the peace agreement between Egypt and Israel will remain etched in the annals of history, and his humanitarian work exemplifies a lofty standard of love, peace, and brotherhood.”

Other world leaders and politicians, including King Charles of the United Kingdom, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, President-elect JD Vance of the United States, and others, have also expressed their condolences to the Carter family and praised his commitment to promoting peace and human rights around the world.
