Woke US offices shut down in most states as Trump’s Gulf of America diversity orders take hold.

Donald Trump Enters Third Day in Office, Executive Orders Take Effect

As Donald Trump enters his third day in office, several executive orders are already kicking in, with the “Gulf of America” now appearing in official documents. The US Coast Guard used the term in their press release, and Florida has become the first US state to describe the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America” in a weather alert.

Trump has also axed several diversity initiatives aimed at hiring practices, equality for the LGBTQ+ community, and DEI measures in healthcare. He has also signed an order claiming there are only two genders.

Federal offices set up as part of federal diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) efforts are being closed down, with employees placed on paid leave. The offices will be fully closed under Trump, who has described DEI measures as “dangerous, demeaning, and immoral”.

Trump has also signed several other executive orders, including a pardon for over 1,500 Americans convicted in connection with the deadly riot at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. He has also given orders for around 450 pending cases against January 6 defendants to be dismissed.

Other executive orders include declaring an official national emergency at the US-Mexico border, trying to end birthright citizenship, and designating Mexican drug cartels and certain gangs from El Salvador or Venezuela as foreign terrorist organisations.

Trump has also withdrawn from the Paris Climate Agreement and the WHO, and signed an executive order to block a ban on the social media site TikTok from taking effect for a further 90 days.
