Actor Will Ferrell brought some holiday cheer to the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday as he attended the Los Angeles Kings’ game against the Philadelphia Flyers, dressed as a disheveled Buddy the Elf, complete with a cigarette hanging from his mouth.
Ferrell’s attendance was a highlight of the game, as the Kings came from behind to defeat the Flyers 5-4. Los Angeles star Anze Kopitar scored twice in the third period, while Adrian Kempe added a goal and an assist to help secure the win.
The Kings’ victory moved them to 21-10-5, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in the Western Conference. The win was a boost for Ferrell, who had been hoping for a Kings victory after telling a fan that it was a “tough holiday season”.
Ferrell has been a longtime supporter of the Kings, painting his face in a checkerboard black and white design during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The classic Christmas film “Elf”, which stars Ferrell as Buddy the Elf, turned 21 years old in November and grossed $228.9 million at the box office when it was released in 2003.
