Eagles’ Saquon Barkley Becomes Playoff Hero with Big Runs Against Giants

The Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff hopes were secured thanks to running back Saquon Barkley, who scored two touchdowns against the New York Giants. Barkley’s 62-yard and 78-yard runs proved to be enough to secure the win, even as quarterback Jalen Hurts struggled to move the ball.

Hurts, however, acknowledged Barkley’s value, saying “He’s been tremendous at that. Rain, sleet or snow, he’s been able to pound, pound, pound, and then take it off.” He added that Barkley needed a break, so he decided to start off fast with a 44-yard touchdown run of his own.

The Eagles will need Barkley to step up again in their next game against the division-rival Washington Commanders. If Hurts is limited, the team might need Barkley to deliver big-time moments. Barkley is well-prepared for the challenge, having already produced numerous heroics this season. “This is why I came to Philly… to be part of games like this,” he said. He added that he’s excited to face the Commanders, referencing their previous matchup, saying, “The beautiful thing is they’ve got to go through Philly. I remember after we lost to Washington, some of those guys were looking at us and saying that, ‘We’re going to see you again.’ And here we are.”
