Vikings’ QB Daniel Jones surprises former Giants teammates with Christmas gifts, despite being released.

Should Minnesota Stick with Sam Darnold?

The Minnesota Vikings have clinched a playoff spot with a 12-2 record, and Colin Cowherd is discussing their quarterback situation. With Sam Darnold’s looming free agency, the question on everyone’s mind is whether the Vikings should stick with him as their starting quarterback.

Daniel Jones, who is currently a member of the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad, sent a thoughtful gift to his former New York Giants teammates. The 27-year-old quarterback, who was benched and then released by the Giants, sent each of the offensive lineman with whom he played with a limited-edition bottle of Clase Azul tequila for Christmas.

It’s not uncommon for NFL quarterbacks to show their appreciation for their offensive linemen with Christmas gifts, but it’s unusual for a quarterback to buy gifts for their former teammates after joining a new team. Jones’ kind gesture has garnered praise from his former teammates, who took to social media to express their support for him after his release.

The New York Giants are currently struggling, having lost 12 games and in danger of securing the number one overall pick in next year’s NFL draft, where they hope to select their next franchise quarterback. In contrast, Daniel Jones’ Vikings are in a strong position, with both they and the Detroit Lions vying for the NFC North title and the number one seed in the NFC.

As for Sam Darnold, only time will tell if the Vikings will re-sign him or look elsewhere for a quarterback to lead them to success in the playoffs.
