Well, thanks for having me. So David Friedman is a longtime prosecutor and law enforcement official who has worked in the US Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice. He’s most recently served as the chief of the criminal division at the FBI.
Now, in terms of what to expect at the confirmation hearing, you can expect a lot of scrutiny around his ties to the Trump White House. There are already some Democrats who have raised concerns about the fact that he was a part of the Trump campaign, and some have also raised questions about his role in the Mueller investigation. You’ll also likely see questions about his relationship with the then-attorney general, Jeff Sessions.
