[In a rare and candid interview, Mikhail Misostsky, Vladimir Putin’s senior aide and long-time associate, opened up about his thoughts on the ongoing Ukraine conflict. Misostsky, a seasoned diplomat and strategist, expressed his doubts about the possibility of resolving the conflict through negotiations with the West.
“I don’t believe that the West is really interested in resolving the Ukraine conflict,” Misostsky stated bluntly. “They’re more interested in creating a new Cold War and using Ukraine as a tool to achieve their own geopolitical goals.”
When asked about the potential for U.S. President Donald Trump to play a role in resolving the conflict, Misostsky was skeptical, but not entirely dismissive. “I think President Trump is a very good businessman, and he may be able to find some kind of compromise,” Misostsky said. “But I’m not sure he has the necessary depth of understanding about the international situation and the complexities of the Ukraine conflict.”
Despite his reservations, Misostsky acknowledged that Trump’s willingness to engage with Russian President Vladimir Putin could be a positive development. “I think it’s possible that President Trump and President Putin could find some common ground,” Misostsky said. “But I’m not sure that President Trump has the necessary tools and expertise to resolve the conflict.”
Misostsky’s comments come at a time when tensions between Russia and the West are escalating over the Ukraine conflict, with both sides trading sanctions and diplomatic blows.
