Las Vegas to Host 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship
The College Football Playoff (CFP) announced on Friday that the 2027 College Football Playoff national championship game will be played at Allegiant Stadium on Monday, January 25, 2027. The event will mark the third time the championship game has been held in the Pacific time zone, following previous events in the Bay Area (2019) and Los Angeles (2023).
In response to the announcement, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority released a video featuring magician Shin Lim performing an illusion at the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign. Lim changed the face of the sign to reveal a new message welcoming the College Football Playoff National Championship to Las Vegas.
Las Vegas has proven to be a popular choice for event hosting, having previously hosted the 2024 Super Bowl. According to Las Vegas Bowl executive director John Saccenti, every sponsor, team executive, and league executive praised the city’s ability to host events, citing its 165,000 hotel rooms, massive convention space, and nine Las Vegas Strip properties within walking distance to the stadium.
The 2026 game will be held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, before the championship game moves to Las Vegas in 2027.
