US President Biden was held “captive” by the oil industry, executive claims.

The United States, under current President Biden, is being held captive by its own oil and gas interests, according to a statement made by Brian Lovig, the CEO of a private energy company. In a recent interview, Lovig stated that the country is unable to make significant progress on climate change due to the dominating influence of the oil and gas lobby.

Lovig claimed that the government is being “held prisoner” by the fossil fuel industry, stating that “Biden is trying to make a difference, but he’s got a major obstacle in his path, and that obstacle is the oil and gas industry.”

He went on to express his disbelief at the fact that the administration has not been more aggressive in implementing measures to tackle climate change, suggesting that this is largely due to the influence of the oil and gas lobby.

However, Lovig also acknowledged the challenges posed by the transition to renewable energy, highlighting the need for significant investment in infrastructure and technology. “We need to make a dramatic and immediate shift to renewable energy,” Lovig emphasized. “But we can’t do it overnight, we need to build the infrastructure, we need to build the tools, we need to build the technologies that can make it happen.”

The statements made by Lovig come at a time when the world is converging on Glasgow, Scotland for the COP26 climate summit, where world leaders will discuss and negotiate further action to address the pressing issue of climate change.
