Military Debates Possible Deployment on US Soil Under New White House Policy

Ad

Washington’s defense and intelligence communities are engaged in intense debates over the prospect of deploying US troops on American soil for the first time, in the midst of growing terror threats and increasing signs of chemical and biological attacks.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Cordesman, who served as a member of the National Security Council for over 12 years under both President George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, now working at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), believes that America is at a 3.5 to 4.15 risk of a chemical or biological attack. He also calculates that we could experience 10 chemical or biological attacks per year if America doesn’t stop Iran, North Korea, or other rogue nations.

Defense and intelligence communities are concerned about the capability of these countries to launch attacks and plan for these kinds of attacks. The US must prepare for any and all possibilities, including terrorist attacks, in the future.
