US Capitol Hit by Lightning on NYE, Sparking Debate over Whether it’s a Divine Omen.

Donald Trump supporters speculate about divine message after lightning strikes prominent US landmarks

Footage and images circulated online show that the US Capitol Building and Washington Monument in Washington D.C. were hit by lightning on New Year’s Eve, while the One World Trade Center and Empire State Building in New York City were also reportedly struck. Revelers had gathered across the country to welcome the new year despite heavy rain predictions.

Trump supporters took to social media, speculation about the occurrences as divine intervention. America First Post, a Trump-supporting media outlet, shared videos that it said showed lightning strikes at the four landmark buildings.

Christians such as Christian Ziegler and others commented, sharing the notion that God is sending a message with the strikes, which quickly received widespread sharing.

Jack Posobiec, the editor of pro-Trump publication Human Events, added a sense of timing, captioning the posts, “Soon”, implying the storms could signal positive changes on Trump’s re-entry into the presidency.

Trump, who promised sweeping changes, will be sworn into office for the second time in January and could face immense pressure from his followers to implement radical policies like massive deportations of illegal immigrants.

As debate unfolded on the cause of the phenomenon, with lawmakers like Mike Lee expressing it like an “omen”, individuals linked to the sovereign movement linked faith with truth while pondering “what God might be saying”, sparking reactions amongst supporters such as Natalie Danelishen suggesting it represents good fortune ahead of the impending political climate in the new year, as many others also contributed speculations as events unfolded
