Fox Flight Team Joins Search for UAPs in New Jersey Skies
The Fox Flight Team has joined the search for Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) in the Northeast, following a recent surge in drone sightings in New Jersey. The New Jersey air base, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, has experienced multiple drone incursions this year, with a spokesperson stating that the incidents are related to contraband smuggling attempts at a federal prison on the base.
According to the base’s spokesperson, measures are in place to detect and respond to unauthorized drone use, with standing flight restrictions prohibiting UAS operations. The incidents have included attempts to smuggle contraband into the prison, including cellphones, drugs, and other items.
The recent drone sightings in New Jersey have been puzzling residents and officials alike, with the Biden administration stating that the drones do not pose a public safety threat and do not appear to be a sign of foreign interference. The Pentagon has also weighed in, stating that the drones are likely unmanned aircraft being used by hobbyists for recreational purposes.
However, there are concerns that some of the drones could be being used for malicious purposes, with a Pentagon spokesperson acknowledging that it is possible some drones could be up to “malign activity”. The base’s spokesperson stated that all incidents are taken seriously and aggressively coordinated with local law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of the installation.
