UnitedHealthCare CEO shot and killed outside Midtown Manhattan hotel

R Rodney Fujiohira, the CEO of UnitedHealthCare, was shot and killed outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel on Thursday afternoon. He was 56 years old.

Fujiohira was shot at around 2:45 pm outside the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel, where he had been attending a conference. He was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The shooter, who has not been identified, is still on the loose and is being sought by the NYPD. The motive behind the shooting is not yet clear.

Fujiohira had been serving as CEO of UnitedHealthCare since 2018, and had a long and distinguished career in the healthcare industry. Under his leadership, the company has grown significantly and expanded its healthcare services.

Fujiohira was also a prominent figure in the business community, and his death has sent shockwaves through the healthcare industry and beyond. Tributes have poured in from colleagues, friends, and former associates who remembered him as a highly respected and accomplished leader.
