Russia has claimed that Ukraine has launched a counterattack in the western border of Kursk, a region that has become a key battleground in the ongoing war. The counterattack, which Ukraine reports is under way, has prompted Russia to send its top general, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, to the region to oversee the situation.

According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, Ukraine deployed two tanks, a dozen armored vehicles, and a demolition unit to the village of Berdin in the Kursk direction. The Russian Ministry claimed that Russian forces had defeated Ukrainian army formations in several areas, including Darino, Kurlovka, Nizhny Klin, and others.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the Russian forces were experiencing great anxiety due to being attacked from multiple directions, which came as a surprise to them. He also praised his military forces for their bravery, stating that they were working to eliminate the occupier.

Meanwhile, the war continues to rage on, with fierce battles occurring along the entire front line, with the hottest spot being near Pokrovsk. The Russian army has reportedly lost up to a battalion of infantry, including North Korean soldiers and Russian paratroopers, in battles in the Makhnovka region. The Commander-in-Chief emphasized the importance of boosting Ukraine’s air defense capabilities, stating that dozens of partner countries will participate in the Ramstein meeting in Germany to discuss ways to improve defense against missiles, guided bombs, and Russian aviation.
