UFC President Dana White “Beyond Disgusted” by Fighter’s Anti-Semitic and Homophobic Comments
UFC president Dana White has expressed his disgust over comments made by featherweight fighter Bryce Mitchell, who called Adolf Hitler a “good guy” and made anti-Semitic, homophobic, and transphobic remarks on his new podcast.
Mitchell, 30, made the shocking comments on the first episode of his podcast, which has been uploaded to YouTube. He claimed that Hitler was a “good guy” who fought for his country and wanted to “purify” it by removing “greedy Jews” and turning them into “gays.”
The MMA community has widely condemned Mitchell’s comments, with many calling for him to be removed from the sport. Ariel Helwani, a popular MMA sports broadcaster, posted on Twitter that the comments were “unbelievably stupid” and “bigoted.”
Despite being “beyond disgusted” by Mitchell’s comments, White said that the UFC will not be punishing the fighter, citing free speech. “I don’t have to love it, you don’t have to love it. You know where I stand with free speech,” White said during a press conference.
Mitchell has fought 19 times in the UFC and is currently ranked 13th in the featherweight rankings. He has also made controversial comments in the past, including stating that he intends to home-school his young son because he “doesn’t want him to be gay.”
The UFC has reached out to Mitchell to express its disgust over his comments, but it appears that no further action will be taken.
