Police in Spain Arrest Two in Connection with Missing Person Case After Google Maps Image
Police in Spain have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the disappearance and death of a missing man, following an investigation sparked by a Google Maps image. The image, taken in October, appears to show a person loading a large object into the trunk of a car in the village of Tajueco.
The missing man was reported missing in November after his relative received suspicious messages from his phone. The messages suggested that he had met a new partner, was moving to a different part of the country, and was getting rid of his phone. Police discovered the Google Maps image during their investigation and believe it may show a vehicle used in connection with a crime.
The arrested pair, the former girlfriend of the missing man and another man who had previously been in a relationship with her, were taken into custody on November 12. Police also recovered a badly decomposed torso from a cemetery in a nearby village on December 11, which has not yet been formally identified but may belong to the victim.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the missing man’s death and disappearance.
