Turkey’s BIST 100 surges 2.52% in closing trade.



Turkey Stocks Rise on Wednesday

Turkey’s stock market ended higher on Wednesday, led by gains in the banking, construction, and holding sectors.

The BIST 100 index added 2.52% to close at 30.80, with Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS, Akbank TAS, and Turkiye Garanti Bankasi leading the charge.

Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS rose 8.37% to 30.80, Akbank TAS added 7.97% to 65.05, and Turkiye Garanti Bankasi climbed 5.38% to 133.30, a record high.

On the flip side, Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS fell 4.95% to 52.75, Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri declined 2.21% to 12.82, and Oyak Cimento Fabrikalari AS was down 2.17% to 23.40.

Rising stocks outnumbered falling ones 437 to 123, while 22 stocks ended unchanged.

In commodities, gold futures were flat, while crude oil fell 0.09% and Brent oil rose 1.24%. The US dollar against the Turkish lira and the euro against the Turkish lira both strengthened.
