Mr. Trump repeatedly attacked FBI officials during his first term, publicly accusing them of treason and breaking the law. In 2018, he called James Comey a traitor and accused him of leaking classified information, which should be prosecuted. He also attacked Andrew McCabe, suggesting he committed treason and broke the law. Recently, he posted an article on June 18, 2024, quoting Steve Bannon, who said, “We’re going to come and get you” in regards to McCabe.

Trump also accused Peter Strzok of treason, including in an interview with The Wall Street Journal in 2018. He even attacked 51 former top intelligence officials who signed a letter claiming the laptop of Hunter Biden obtained by Republican operatives was potentially Russian disinformation, saying they should be prosecuted for what they did.

In addition, Trump has taken aim at the media, suggesting that CBS should have its license revoked if it doesn’t report the truth. He has also suggested jailing reporters who refuse to reveal their sources. He wrote in his latest book, “Save America,” that if a reporter doesn’t comply, they will “spend the rest of their life in prison.”

It’s worth noting that Meta, the company owned by Mark Zuckerberg, donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund, and Zuckerberg has met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. After these meetings, Meta ended its fact-checking program, a move widely supported by Trump’s supporters.
