A Famed Doctor’s Take on the JFK Assassination: As Trump Lifts the Veil on Declassified Files

Dr. Michael Baden, a renowned forensic pathologist, has spent years investigating the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In a recent interview with Fox News, Dr. Baden shared his insights and expectations on the declassified files that will be released by President Trump.

Dr. Baden chaired the forensic pathology autopsy panel on the Select Committee on Assassinations set up by Congress in 1977. He expressed concerns that the various conspiracy theories and criticisms of the investigation arose from the fact that the entire report was never released.

“Now, with the 14,000 documents expected to be released, Dr. Baden hopes that they will shed light on the various mistakes or disinformation that have circulated since.”

Dr. Baden has concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots at the president, striking the curb, the upper back, and the head. He believes that the bullet was recovered in the emergency room at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, near the front seat of the car and the floor.

Dr. Baden also pointed out that the initial autopsy report was poorly done by Dr. James Humes, who lacked experience in performing homicide autopsies. Despite this, nine chief medical examiners reviewed the report and concluded that Oswald was the lone shooter.

Dr. Baden discounted the multiple shooter theory and said that the delay in releasing the documents may be a risk to confidential informants and could be an embarrassment to the intelligence community.

Theories surrounding the assassination included the possibility of CIA or mafia involvement. Dr. Baden believes that the mafia theory was fueled by the notion that Kennedy would be lenient to organized crime because they helped him win over Illinois in the election, but that the president’s investigation into organized crime created a motive for the assassination.

Dr. Baden is confident that the conclusions made by the Select Committee on Assassinations in 1977 still hold true: that Oswald was the lone shooter and that Kennedy was shot twice, both from behind. However, he anticipates that the released documents may provide additional information that supports their diagnosis.

The release of the files has raised many questions about what really happened on November 22, 1963, and whether there were any external factors that contributed to the event. Dr. Baden remains hopeful that the declassified files will provide answers to these questions.
