After President Donald Trump is sworn in on January 20, he will sit down for a luncheon at the U.S. Capitol hosted by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies. While the exact menu for the 2025 event has yet to be released, history suggests that diners can expect a three-course meal featuring a seafood dish, a meat entrée, and a dessert, probably with ice cream.

In 2017, Trump and guests had a three-course meal at the Inaugural Luncheon, which featured Maine lobster and gulf shrimp, grilled Seven Hills Angus beef, and chocolate souffle with cherry vanilla ice cream. The menu has traditionally consisted of a three-course meal, with dishes often influenced by the home states of the new President and Vice President.

Previous Inaugural Luncheons have featured notable dishes, such as steamed lobster and New England chowder, grilled bison, and Hudson Valley Apple Pie. The event, which was first held in 1897, has evolved to include speeches, gift presentations, and toasts to the new administration.

This year’s Inauguration theme is “Our Enduring Democracy: A Constitutional Promise,” which recognizes the Founders’ commitment to preserving the continuity and stability of the democratic system of government. The theme will likely influence the menu choices for the Inaugural Luncheon. Fox News Digital has reached out to the JCCIC for details on the 2025 Inaugural Luncheon menu, but no further information has been released.
