President Trump Has Made a Historic Comeback in Favorability Ratings
According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, more Americans approve of President Donald Trump’s presidency now than they did when he entered office in 2017. Trump’s net approval rating has gone from -3 points when he started his term to +6 points, an increase of 9 points from January 2017.
Trump’s approval ratings are now higher than they were throughout his entire first term. His highest net approval rating in his first term was +3 points in March 2017, but now he has exceeded that with his current +6 points.
“Things have very much turned around,” said CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten. “This is a very different Donald Trump. He’s leading a very different administration and the American public is very much more in line with him than they were at any point during his entire first term.”
In fact, Trump has made history as the first president to have a higher net approval rating in the first month of his second term than throughout his entire first term. The American people appear to be very pleased with the direction of his presidency, according to the latest polls. A Fox News poll found that Trump’s favorable rating had jumped to 50%, the highest on record for a Fox News poll, with 50% having an unfavorable view.
