President Trump Pulls Security Clearances of 51 Former National Security Officials

Ad

President Donald Trump has suspended the security clearances of more than 50 national security officials, according to a report. These officials had earlier issued a public letter stating that Hunter Biden’s laptop showed all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation, despite the absence of any evidence of Russian involvement.

The list of officials whose security clearances were suspended includes former director of National Intelligence James Clapper Jr., former directors of the Central Intelligence Agency Michael Hayden and John Brennan, former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, and former National Security Advisor John Bolton.

In 2020, the 51 former national security officials released a public letter claiming that the laptop did not contain any evidence of Russian involvement, but instead seemed like a Russian information operation. This was after the New York Post reported that Hunter Biden had coordinated with a top executive at a Ukrainian energy company named Burisma, with a meeting between the executive and Joe Biden scheduled before Hunter Biden’s father, Joe Biden, pressed Ukrainian officials to oust a prosecutor investigating the company.
