Trump praises Whatley’s ‘outstanding and historic’ work.

President-elect Trump Invites RNC Chair Michael Whatley to Continue Leading the Party

President-elect Trump has invited Republican National Committee (RNC) chair Michael Whatley to continue steering the GOP’s national party committee. Whatley quickly accepted the invitation, expressing his honor to continue as chairman and his commitment to working nonstop to help President Trump “Make America Great Again.”

Trump praised Whatley for doing an “OUTSTANDING and HISTORIC JOB” in running the RNC, citing his efforts in building the party and ensuring free and fair elections. Trump also thanked Whatley for his work on election integrity and his role in delivering votes in battleground states.

Whatley has served as RNC general counsel and chair of the North Carolina Republican Party, and was named RNC chair by Trump in March. He will continue to work alongside RNC co-chair Lara Trump, who was also named by Trump.

In his social media post, Trump described Whatley as a “smart, tough lawyer” who put together a successful election integrity operation and get-out-the-vote campaign. He also praised Whatley and Lara Trump for transforming the RNC into a powerful machine that will empower the America First Agenda.

Whatley thanked Trump for the trust he has placed in him and pledged to continue the RNC’s priorities, including getting out the vote, protecting the ballot, and raising money to elect Republicans. He also pointed to the crucial fights ahead, including supporting President Trump’s cabinet nominees and preparing for the 2026 midterms.

Trump’s decision to invite Whatley to continue as RNC chair comes as the party looks to build on its successes in last month’s elections, including the flipping of the Senate and holding onto its fragile House majority. The RNC will need to work to ensure that Trump voters continue to support the party’s candidates even though the term-limited Trump won’t appear on the ballot again.
