President-elect Trump Announces Nominations for Five U.S. Ambassadors
President-elect Trump has announced his nominations for five U.S. ambassadors to various countries, including Japan, the Dominican Republic, Austria, Luxembourg, and Uruguay. The nominees will need to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
Trump named George Edward Glass, a former U.S. ambassador to Portugal, to serve as the incoming U.S. ambassador to Japan. Glass has a strong business background and will “bring his business acumen to the Ambassador’s position,” according to Trump. Glass has also served on the board of trustees at the University of Oregon.
Leah Francis Campos, the sister of “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy, was nominated to be the U.S. ambassador to the Dominican Republic. She has previously worked as a CIA case officer and was a senior advisor for the Western Hemisphere on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Arthur Graham Fisher, the president of Fisher Realty, was named as Trump’s pick for U.S. ambassador to Austria. Fisher has been a top-ranked broker in North Carolina and has supported “America First” policies.
Stacey Feinberg, a producer of Broadway musicals, motivational speaker, and board member of the Women Founders Network, was nominated to be the U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg. Feinberg is committed to supporting women in launching their careers and scaling their businesses.
Finally, Lou Rinaldi, a successful businessman and longtime friend of Trump’s, was named as the U.S. ambassador to Uruguay. Rinaldi grew up in Uruguay and has an intimate understanding of the country’s culture and history, making him well-qualified to advance U.S. interests.
