President Donald Trump Celebrates Kansas City Chiefs’ AFC Championship Win, Shouts Out MAGA Fans
President Donald Trump was among those congratulating the Kansas City Chiefs after their 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills, which secured their spot in the Super Bowl for a chance to make history. Trump took to Truth Social to celebrate the win, praising the team, their coach, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and the fans, including those who voted for him in record numbers.
“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs,” Trump wrote. “What a GREAT team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers.”
Trump also acknowledged the Buffalo Bills, who came up short once again against the Chiefs, with quarterback Josh Allen now 0-4 against Mahomes in the postseason. Despite the loss, Trump was optimistic about the Bills’ future, predicting they will do a lot of winning in the years to come.
The Kansas City Chiefs have a chance to make history by becoming the first team to win three straight Super Bowls. They will face the Philadelphia Eagles, who won the NFC Championship over the Washington Commanders, in the upcoming Super Bowl.
The Chiefs have a history with Trump, who withdrew a White House invitation to the team in 2018 after several players declined to attend citing his comments on kneeling during the national anthem. However, some players on the team, including kicker Harrison Butker, publicly supported Trump in the 2020 election. Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, and his mother, Randi, also expressed support for Trump, with Brittany liking his 2024 policy platform and Randi wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat to a Chiefs game.
