Trump Merch Drops New “GULF OF AMERICA!” T-Shirt
A new Trump merch drop has emerged, featuring a white t-shirt with “GULF OF AMERICA!” emblazoned on it, in reference to President Trump’s recent executive order requiring the federal government to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.
The t-shirt is part of an email campaign sent to supporters, signed by “Caitlyn from Team Trump,” which boasts of the “historic moment for our nation” and encourages supporters to “RUN” to buy the shirt, available for a minimum contribution of $47 to the Trump National Committee JFC.
The executive order, titled “Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness,” declares the Gulf of America as an “indelible part of America” and tasks the Secretary of the Interior with renaming the U.S. Continental Shelf area bounded by five Gulf States (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida) and extending to the seaward boundary with Mexico and Cuba.
At a press conference at Mar-a-Lago, Trump praised the new name, saying, “The Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring, The Gulf of America, what a beautiful name and it’s appropriate.”
