Sauce Walka On Why Travis Scott Has No Songs With Houston OGs
Sauce Walka, a prominent figure in Houston’s hip-hop scene, recently opened up about Travis Scott’s lack of collaborations with Houston OGs. In an interview with HipHopDX, Sauce Walka shared his thoughts on the matter.
According to Sauce Walka, Travis Scott’s reluctance to work with Houston OGs stems from his desire to create a brand separate from the city’s traditional hip-hop sound. “He’s trying to create his own thing, his own brand, his own sound,” Sauce Walka explained. “He don’t want to be associated with nobody from Houston, ’cause he’s trying to be his own boss.”
Sauce Walka also suggested that Travis Scott’s focus on mainstream success may have contributed to his lack of collaborations with Houston OGs. “He’s chasing that mainstream thing, that’s what it is,” Sauce Walka said. “He don’t care about the streets, he don’t care about the culture, he just care about being famous.”
Despite Travis Scott’s lack of collaborations with Houston OGs, Sauce Walka believes that the city’s hip-hop scene is still thriving. “Houston is still the most underrated city in the world when it comes to hip-hop,” Sauce Walka stated. “We got some of the most talented artists in the world, and we still ain’t getting the recognition we deserve.”
