Travis Kelce could hang up his cleats if Kansas City Chiefs three-peat.

“Analytics Guru Weighs in on Travis Kelce’s Potential Early Retirement

Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky discussed the possibility of Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce retiring sooner rather than later. At 35 years old, Kelce has been playing in the league for 12 seasons and has recently shown a decline in production, missing the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the second consecutive year.

Orlovsky believes that if the Chiefs win the upcoming Super Bowl, which would be their third consecutive championship, Kelce may consider retiring, citing that he would have nothing left to accomplish and would be considered one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history.

“He’s got one great run left,” Orlovsky said. “I think if he goes and has that vintage Kelce performance, which I fully, one, think he’s capable of, and two, will do, and they go on and three-peat, I think retirement becomes a very real thing for Travis Kelce.”

Kelce has expressed his own uncertainty about his future, stating that his thoughts on retirement fluctuate, and he plans to re-evaluate his decision after the season. He has also received support from pop star Taylor Swift, who continues to encourage him to enjoy playing the game.

Kelce’s long-time teammate and fan favorite, Orlovsky, remains optimistic about the tight end’s potential future, saying, “I think he’s got one, elite, great, difference-maker, vintage, ‘Oh my Gosh, he did it again’ run left in him.”
