NFL Finds Replacements for Opt-Out Pro Bowl Players
The NFL has named replacements for three star quarterbacks who opted out of the upcoming Pro Bowl Games. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Jayden Daniels had previously declined to participate, citing various reasons.
Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens lost to Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills in the divisional round, while Allen fell short again against the Kansas City Chiefs. Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC title game.
The replacements include New England Patriots rookie Drake Maye, who will fill Jackson’s spot on the AFC roster. Pittsburgh’s Russell Wilson will take Allen’s place, and Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield will replace Daniels.
Additionally, the Bills’ James Cook will fill in for Derrick Henry of the Ravens, while Buffalo center Connor McGovern was selected as a replacement.
The Pro Bowl Games, which feature skills competitions and a flag football game, will take place in Orlando, Florida, from Thursday to Sunday. The event replaces the traditional NFC-AFC game, which had become unpopular.
