Top lobbyist departs Boeing amid top-level shake-up.

Ziad Ojakli, Boeing’s Head of Government Affairs, to Leave Company

Boeing’s CEO told employees in an email that Ziad Ojakli, the planemaker’s head of government affairs and top lobbyist, is leaving the company effective immediately. Ojakli, who took over as head of Boeing government operations in September 2021, will be replaced on an interim basis by Bill McSherry, who oversees the company’s state and local government operations.

Ojakli previously headed the government affairs offices at Ford Motor and Softbank. The departure of Ojakli comes as Boeing faces a challenging year, which has been marked by a serious incident involving a new Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9 jet. In January, a door plug missing four key bolts blew off the plane at 16,000 feet.
