Too $hort’s Brother Shot and Killed in Oakland
Rapper Too $hort’s brother, Duran “D-Shot” Martin, was shot and killed in Oakland, California on Tuesday night. According to reports, Martin, 42, was shot multiple times in the torso and leg while sitting in a car in the 1400 block of 75th Avenue around 11:30pm local time.
The shooting is currently under investigation by the Oakland Police Department, with authorities reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence. No arrests have been made at this time.
Martin was a close relative of Too $hort, whose real name is Todd Shaw, and the two were involved in the hip-hop group Young Rouge. D-Shot was also a rapper and producer in his own right, having released several albums and singles throughout his career. In the years leading up to his death, Martin had been involved in various music projects and had performed at various venues in the Bay Area.
