Tiger Bech, former Princeton football player, killed in New Orleans attack.

Wednesday’s violent attack in New Orleans has claimed the lives of at least 10 people, including former Princeton football player Tiger Bech, a New Orleans native who played for the university from 2016-2018 and later worked as a stockbroker in New York City. Bech, 27, was a three-year starter at Princeton, earning All-Ivy League honors as a kick returner. He graduated in 2021 and was set to work in finance, but returned to his hometown for the holidays.

Bech was also the older brother of TCU wide receiver Jack Bech, who paid tribute to his brother on social media, saying, “Love you always brother! You inspired me every day now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don’t worry. This is for us.”

The suspect in the attack, Shamsud Din Jabbar, was identified by the FBI, who are working to determine his potential associations with terrorist organizations. An ISIS flag was found in his vehicle, along with weapons and a potential IED, and other potential IEDs were located in the French Quarter.

The 2025 Sugar Bowl at the New Orleans Superdome has been postponed in the wake of the attack.
