The Weeknd Explains Why He’s Retiring Stage Name After New Album

The Weeknd has revealed that he will be retiring his stage name after the release of his upcoming album. In a recent interview, the singer-songwriter explained that he feels his music has evolved to the point where he no longer feels a connection to the name “The Weeknd”.

“I think my music has gotten to a place where I’m not just an R&B artist, I’m not just an indie artist, I’m not just a pop artist,” The Weeknd said. “I’m making music that’s bigger than that. I’m making music that’s timeless.”

The Weeknd went on to say that he wants to focus on creating music that is more personal and meaningful, rather than just trying to fit into a specific genre or category. He also expressed his desire to explore other creative outlets, such as film and visual art.

“I think it’s time for me to move on and explore other creative avenues,” The Weeknd said. “I’m excited to see where this new chapter takes me.”

It’s unclear what The Weeknd’s new stage name will be, or what his future music will sound like. However, fans are eager to see what the artist has in store for them.
