Scream 7 Brings Back a Beloved Character, But at a High Cost

While this is exciting news, it also poses a significant challenge for the film’s story. The Scream franchise rebooted in 2022, introducing a new generation of characters, led by sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter, and their friends. With Sam and Tara departing, the franchise has had to rework its story, and Chad’s return is a major twist.
Chad’s return is a challenge because of the time jump in the story, which will focus on Sidney’s family. The previous Scream movies followed the main survivors of the original series, with Sam and Tara being the new “Final Girls.” The time jump makes it difficult to incorporate the new characters, and bringing back Chad without Sam and Tara’s presence poses an even greater challenge.
