Netflix Reveals New Clip for Troll 2, the Highly Anticipated Sequel
Netflix has unveiled a new clip for Troll 2, the highly anticipated sequel to their breakout hit Troll, which was released in 2022. The original film told the story of a gigantic beast that awakens in the Drove Mountain after 1,000 years in captivity, wreaking havoc on Oslo, Norway.
The new clip begins with familiar characters walking into a military facility, where they unveil the massive “Sunna Helicopter,” specifically designed for troll hunting. The trailer teases that this helicopter can emanate UV rays powerful enough to fry trolls to death, labeling it “a lean, mean, troll-killing machine.”
The clip is sparse with visuals, revealing little about the trolls that will appear in the sequel. Instead, it establishes the main plot point of the follow-up feature, which seems to focus on the Oslo inhabitants preparing for an impending troll invasion. This time, they’re armed and ready to fight back.
Troll 2 needs to raise the stakes, as the original film received widespread critical acclaim and became Netflix’s most-watched non-English-language film in the platform’s history, with 103 million views in its first 91 days.
The new clip emphasizes the action-packed aspect of the series, hyping up the new troll-killing machine. If the film delivers on its promise, Troll 2 could have enough high-octane fighting scenes to keep audiences engaged after a three-year hiatus from the franchise.
