Despite Having a Career Low Season, Patrick Mahomes Expects Big Playoffs from Travis Kelce
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes believes that his star tight end, Travis Kelce, will bounce back with a strong postseason performance despite having a career low season. Mahomes attributes Kelce’s ability to step up his game in the playoffs to his leadership and mental approach.
Kelce has consistently increased his production in the playoffs, averaging 86.5 receiving yards per game compared to 69.4 in the regular season. He holds the record for most receptions (165) and is second in receiving yards (1,903) and receiving touchdowns (19) in NFL postseason history.
Mahomes and Kelce have connected on 17 touchdowns in their playoff careers, the most by any duo in NFL history. Kelce’s streak of 70-plus receiving yards in 13 consecutive playoff games is the longest in NFL history, and he will look to make it 14 straight this Saturday against Houston.
