The Dodgers dominate the early 2025 World Series odds, while the Mets surge after signing Juan Soto.

The 2024 MLB season has come to a close, with the Los Angeles Dodgers emerging as the champions, their second title in the past five years. As the league prepares for next season, early odds to win the 2025 World Series have been released, with DraftKings Sportsbook providing the following numbers as of December 9:

The Los Angeles Dodgers are favorites to win the 2025 World Series, with odds of +380. The Atlanta Braves are second, at +750, followed by the New York Mets at +800, and the New York Yankees at +900. The Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles, and Houston Astros round out the top seven teams with single-digit odds.

As of Sunday night, the New York Mets jumped from seventh place to third, thanks to the addition of star player Juan Soto, who left the Yankees for the Mets. The Yankees’ odds dipped from +700 to +900, while the Mets’ odds rose from +1400 to +800.

While the Los Angeles Dodgers are favored to repeat, it will not be an easy task. In the history of the sport, only a handful of teams have won consecutive World Series, with the most recent being the Yankees’ three-peat from 1998 to 2000. The Toronto Blue Jays repeated in 1993, and the Oakland Athletics won three straight titles from 1972 to 1974, followed by the Cincinnati Reds and the New York Yankees, who won consecutive titles in 1975, 1976, and 1978.
