The Cast of Community Teases the Long-Awaited Movie Finale
The cast of Community has been teasing the long-awaited feature-length finale, “And A Movie,” for several years. The movie is finally in development, with a script and a plan in place, according to Ken Jeong, who played Spanish professor Ben Chang in the series.
Jeong revealed that the script is finished, but unfortunately, he’s only allowed to say a limited amount about the project. However, he did refer to the movie as “magical and real emotional,” and expressed his excitement about returning to the character. Joel McHale, who played Joel McHale in the series, will also be back, with Ken Jeong stating, “I got to meet one of my best friends, because of that show. It made me emotional, and just brought me right back, and that’s all I’m legally allowed to say.”
Dan Harmon, the creator of Community, has revealed that the movie will not be delving into some of the show’s more outlandish storylines, such as the paintball episodes or the Dungeons and Dragons episodes. Instead, the movie will feature a more grounded storyline, with Donald Glover providing some insight into the plot: “It’s a college reunion, but Abed is like this big director now, and basically this is his magnum opus.”
Glover’s comments suggest that the movie will be a capper on the series, with the characters reuniting for what could be a mockumentary-style film. The release date for the movie has not been announced, but fans are eagerly waiting for the opportunity to see their favorite characters return to Greendale Community College once again.
