Buffalo Trolls Doubters After Clinching Division Title
Despite preseason predictions that the Miami Dolphins or New York Jets would take the AFC East title, the Buffalo Bills have already clinched their fifth consecutive division title. A dominant win over the San Francisco 49ers in the snow secured the division title, and the Bills will now look to secure the one-seed.
To gloat, the Bills’ social media team posted a montage of experts predicting the Dolphins or Jets would win the division. They also shared a video of talking heads saying the Bills would not come out on top, including comments from Rich Eisen who admitted he was wrong.
Eisen had previously predicted that the Bills would struggle without Stefon Diggs and a strong defense. “I looked at all of that and I thought to myself, this is the time the Buffalo Bills can get got… It was wrong. Not just wrong, dead wrong. I mean, absolutely way off the mark awful wrong,” he said on his show.
The Dolphins suffered from injuries, including a concussion that caused quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to miss four games, and the Jets have had a nightmare season. The Bills, on the other hand, are one game behind the Kansas City Chiefs for the one-seed, but they have the tiebreaker should they finish with the same record.
