The Army-Navy game attracts a record-breaking audience with Trump’s presence.

Army-Navy Game Sets Viewership Record as Trump, Musk, and Others Attend

The 125th Army-Navy game held on Saturday, December 14, was watched by an unprecedented number of viewers. The Navy Midshipmen pulled off an upset, defeating the Army Black Knights 31-13 and increasing their all-time series lead to 63-55-7.

The game saw an increase in viewership due to the presence of President-elect Donald Trump, who attended the game for the first time since 2020. Trump was joined in the luxury suite by Vice President-elect JD Vance, Elon Musk, Pete Hegseth, Daniel Penny, and others.

According to CBS, the game drew an average of 9.4 million viewers, the most since at least 1990 and a 31% increase over last year’s audience of 7.2 million. It is now the most-watched game on CBS this year and the 11th most-watched college football game this season.

The viewership increase can be attributed to the fact that Trump’s attendance generated significant buzz and attention, making many tune in to catch a glimpse of the soon-to-be 47th President. Additionally, the game featured two ranked teams, with Navy ultimately emerging victorious and earning the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy.
