Texas’ Quinn Ewers stays focused on College Football Playoff semifinal, not speculation about his future.

Junior quarterback Quinn Ewers will take the field on January 10 when his Texas Longhorns face the Ohio State Buckeyes in a College Football Playoff semifinal. Ewers was widely projected as a first-round 2025 NFL Draft prospect prior to the start of the season but has yet to announce whether he will return to college football or enter the draft.

Reports have surfaced that Ewers received offers of up to $6 million to enter the transfer portal, which would allow him to leave college football and enter the NFL draft. Ewers has one year of eligibility remaining, giving him the option to transfer to another college program or enter the draft.

In a recent press conference, Ewers fielded questions about his future and made it clear his focus is on the upcoming game against Ohio State. “Right now, I’m just not worried about all that stuff,” he said, emphasizing that it would be “selfish” for him to focus on his personal future while his teammates are in the midst of a playoff run.

If Ewers does decide to forgo his remaining college eligibility and enter the NFL draft, he could draw interest from multiple teams looking to add a young, talented quarterback to their rosters. Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders have been billed as the top two quarterbacks entering April’s NFL Draft, but Ewers could potentially be a top prospect as well.
