Tesla Introduces Updated Model Y, Starting at $59,990
Tesla has introduced an updated version of its popular Model Y in the United States, with prices starting at $59,990. The revamped model is now available for order, with deliveries set to begin in March.
The new version of the Model Y boasts an estimated Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) range of 320 miles, a slight improvement over the previous model’s 311 miles. The refreshed Model Y features subtle exterior updates, including redesigned front and rear light bars. Inside, the cabin now includes heated and ventilated seats and an eight-inch rear touchscreen for backseat passengers.
The updated Model Y also includes Tesla’s Full Self-Driving package as standard, a $4,000 increase from the previous Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive version.
The new Model Y is part of Tesla’s broader initiative to update its vehicle lineup, following the recent refresh of the Model 3 “Highland.” In addition to the U.S. launch, a redesigned Model Y was recently unveiled in China, featuring updated exterior designs, enhanced interior amenities, and an extended driving range of 719 kilometers per charge. Deliveries in China are also expected to begin in March, pending regulatory approval.
The Model Y, Tesla’s best-selling SUV, has remained largely unchanged since its 2020 debut. The latest updates reflect the company’s strategy to maintain its competitive edge in the electric vehicle market by offering improved features and performance.
