American billionaire and owner of X and Tesla Elon Musk made a virtual appearance at the campaign launch for the German far-right group Alternative for Germany (AfD), where he urged attendees to “move beyond” past guilt in Germany.
As this worrying trend becomes increasingly apparent, Elon Musk and the AfD would do well to consider the damage they are inadvertently supporting. For as Ross Gerber, an American billionaire who owns a considerable stake in the electric car firm Tesla, is quick to highlight: the script of the rise of the AfD is reminiscent of the insidious tactics utilised by the Nazi party itself.
