Tennis Legend Pam Shriver Reunited with Stolen Trophies
Tennis Hall of Famer Pam Shriver has been reunited with her stolen trophies, which were returned to her by the Los Angeles Police Department. The trophies, along with sentimental items and family photos, were stolen from her car when it was taken while she was staying in a hotel after evacuating her home due to devastating wildfires.
Shriver, who won 21 Grand Slam doubles championships, had loaded her car with personal belongings, including her trophies and family photos, before evacuating the area. Her car, a black Dodge Durango Hellcat, was taken, along with everything inside.
The trophies were later dropped off at the hotel, where a detective picked them up to be fingerprinted. Shriver regained custody of the trophies, which included five U.S. Open women’s doubles trophies and four French Open doubles trophies she won alongside Martina Navratilova.
According to ESPN, security camera footage revealed a person driving a car matching the description of Shriver’s stolen vehicle dropping off the trophies. Shriver expressed gratitude for the return of her trophies, but wondered where they had been during their time away.
