Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg Will Attend Inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump
Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg will have a prominent spot at the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on Monday, according to an official involved in the planning of the event. The three tech titans, who have all made attempts to earn favor with Trump in the past year, will be seated on the platform with other notable guests, including Trump’s Cabinet nominees and elected officials.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has been a frequent supporter of Trump, donating over a quarter-billion dollars in campaign funds to help elect him. He has also been involved in a new Trump administration advisory body called DOGE, serving as one of the co-leads. Additionally, Musk’s company, Tesla, donated $1 million to the Trump inaugural fund.
Bezos, the founder of Amazon and executive chair, decided not to endorse a candidate in the presidential race, but did contribute $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund. Bezos also owns The Washington Post, which he decided not to endorse in the presidential race, despite the paper’s opinion staff wanting to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris.
Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, reshuffled his lobbying staff and content moderation policies earlier this month to align with the incoming Republican administration. Meta also contributed $1 million to the Trump inaugural fund. However, a representative at Meta declined to comment on the matter.
While the three men have all made attempts to curry favor with Trump, they have also supported Democrats and Republicans in the past, according to federal records. The trio is also frequent rivals in the tech industry, competing in areas such as artificial intelligence, space exploration, and media.
