San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was just one or two plays away from leading his team to a Super Bowl championship over the Kansas City Chiefs, but ultimately fell short. Despite the loss, star Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, made an appearance at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday.
Swift was asked about her song “Paper Rings,” which some believe is about Purdy. She joked, “I don’t mind Brock Purdy. He put me through a lot last February. I was very stressed for a second,” while signing an autograph for a child.
Purdy had a strong performance in the game, going 23-of-38 with 255 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Jauan Jennings in the fourth quarter. The 49ers went up three points with 11:22 left in the game, but the teams traded field goals to force overtime. Patrick Mahomes’ 3-yard pass to Mecole Hardman sealed the win for the Chiefs.
Swift was in attendance at the game, and she and Kelce celebrated with a few kisses on the field. “Paper Rings” is a song off Swift’s 2019 album “Lover,” but it’s worth noting that Purdy was still at Iowa State when the album was released, as he took over as the 49ers’ starting quarterback in 2022.
