WNBA Phenom Caitlin Clark Was Invited by Taylor Swift to Watch Kansas City Chiefs Game
Caitlin Clark, the WNBA’s Athlete of the Year, has been enjoying some rare interactions with pop star Taylor Swift. Clark, the Indiana Fever guard, recently told Time magazine that Swift invited her to watch a Kansas City Chiefs game. The opportunity would allow Clark to watch her favorite team with her favorite musical artist.
The invitation came after Clark met Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in person after attending two shows on the singer’s Eras Tour. Clark described the experience as “people are just going crazy that I’m here. I thought people would be so in their own world, ready to see Taylor. And it was just completely the opposite.”
The invite is quite special, given Clark’s long-standing admiration for Swift. She has previously said that Swift is her favorite artist, and even welcomed Swift to the Chiefs fan base after Swift’s relationship with Kelce went public in September 2023.
The invitation also comes as Swift has been visible distant from Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, compared to last season. The two were usually seen sitting side by side in the same suite during games. However, this year, Swift only attended two games with Mahomes, and the two were often seated separately.
Clark’s interaction with Swift has been widely covered, with the singer even placing her on the cover of Time magazine’s recent Inspiring Women special edition issue. Clark advocated for athletes to encourage fans to vote when asked about the endorsement, while Mahomes has remained silent on the controversy surrounding her liking a post by Donald Trump on Instagram.
