Taiwan stocks close higher, Taiwan Weighted rises 0.12%.



Taiwan Stocks Rise, Led by Gains in Technology and Electronics Sectors

Taiwan’s stock market closed higher on Monday, with gains in the technology and electronics sectors leading the way. The Taiwan Stock Exchange’s Taiex index rose 0.12% to hit a new one-month high.

The best performers of the session were ALi Corp, which rose 10.00% to 37.95, Plotech Co Ltd, which added 10.00% to 16.50, and Taimide Tech Inc, which was up 10.00% to 48.40.

On the other hand, the worst performers were Hiyes International Co Ltd, which fell 10.00% to 225.00, Compucase Enterprise Co Ltd, which declined 10.00% to 92.70, and Huaku Development Co Ltd, which was down 6.80% to 116.50.

Crude oil prices were also higher, with February delivery rising 0.07% to $70.65 a barrel. Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.09% to $73.86 a barrel, while gold futures rose 0.15% to $2,635.80 a troy ounce.

The US dollar weakened against the Taiwanese dollar, with USD/TWD falling 0.14% to 32.78. The US dollar index also fell 0.02% to 107.77.
